About Us
James has been taking things apart since he was very little. To be fair, he's still little — but these days he at least puts things back together again.
That early curiosity turned into a career — he went on to become a qualified mechanical engineer with over a decade of hands-on experience across Canterbury and Southland.
In 2019 he founded Arrowsmith Engineering, named after one of his favourite mountains in the Canterbury high country — a nod to his other passion for mountaineering.
James operates as a mobile service, travelling to farms, industrial sites and construction projects across the region. No workshop dropoffs — he comes to you, gets the job done, and keeps things straightforward. Every job gets the same attention whether it's a quick repair or a major fabrication project.
